The Dogberry Collections Classic Paulownia Mantel is a paulownia wood fireplace mantel shelf — lighter than oak or poplar — available in 48″, 60″, and 72″ widths, three finish options, at 6″ tall × 8″ deep. Paulownia's low density makes it an excellent choice for installations where weight is a concern.
Not all fireplace walls are built to handle a dense hardwood shelf. The Classic Paulownia Mantel is crafted from paulownia — a fast-growing hardwood that is significantly lighter than oak, poplar, or pine while maintaining excellent dimensional stability. Paulownia won't warp or split with seasonal humidity changes, and its tight grain takes stain and paint evenly. At 6″ tall and 8″ deep, it's one of our most generous-profile mantel shelves, offering a wide display ledge for candles, art, and seasonal décor.

Common Questions
