The Dogberry Collections French Corbel Mantel is the most ornate fireplace mantel shelf in the Dogberry lineup — featuring decorative corbel supports beneath each end of the shelf, available in 48″, 60″, and 72″ widths, four finish options. It brings classical European architecture detail to any fireplace surround.
Corbels are architectural brackets — originally carved in stone or timber to support structural overhangs in European châteaux and manor houses. The French Corbel Mantel translates that tradition into a solid wood fireplace shelf: each end is supported by a decorative corbel detail that adds depth, shadow, and unmistakable old-world elegance. It's the most ornate shelf in our lineup, and it earns the description — whether positioned above a brick fireplace, a marble surround, or a painted shiplap wall, the corbels transform a mantel shelf into genuine architectural millwork.

I adore the style, and it perfectly complements our living room. However, the installation proved more challenging than I had anticipated. I kindly request that you consider adding an option to purchase hardware specifically designed for brick fireplaces.

As described. Great quality. Easy to mount. It comes as a straight piece and you can add the decorative supports if you want. We chose to only add the 2 supports and leave out be middle board.
